How much does an AI call center cost in 2026: what drives the price, and why “price per minute” misleads
The most common question about voice AI is “how much per minute?” The answer tells you almost nothing about what a working calling campaign will cost. Here's what actually drives the price, based on public pricing and market research.

Our own pricing is on request: it depends on countries, languages and volume. Below is how pricing works across the market, with sources.
Why “price per minute” misleads
Voice-agent platforms publish a per-minute price, and it looks small. But for most of them that covers only the orchestration layer: the language model, voice synthesis and telephony are billed separately (Vapi, Retell, Bland). Independent breakdowns show the all-in minute ends up several times higher than the list price (Techsy).
And even the all-in minute isn't a campaign. Script, company list, test calls, call reviews, CRM integration—the platform buyer does all of that themselves or pays for it separately.
What the price is made of
| Cost item | What's included | What it depends on |
|---|---|---|
| Platform and models | speech recognition, language model, voice synthesis | volume, chosen model and voice |
| Telephony | phone or WhatsApp calls | country and number type—tens of times difference |
| Setup | script, voice, test calls, configuration | number of languages and scripts, integrations |
| Lead list | sourcing companies, checking contacts and sanctions lists | country, industry, target profile |
| Ongoing management | call reviews, script fixes, reports | campaign intensity |
| Handoff to humans | summaries, call translation, tasks for the sales rep | number of warm leads |
How the market sells it
Platforms sell minutes and leave everything else to the buyer. Bigger players like PolyAI, Parloa and Regal don't publish prices; Synthflow dropped its cheap plans and kept annual contracts (Synthflow).
Done-for-you agencies usually charge two fees: a one-time setup fee (script, voice, configuration, CRM integration) and a monthly management fee, often with a bundle of minutes included. Those two lines, not the price per minute, make up most of the bill.
Human call centers are the upper benchmark: an outsourced agent is paid by the hour, and one person covers one language and one shift. A human rep makes a few dozen calls a day.
Telephony: the line almost nobody counts
Most services park international telephony under “billed separately.” Yet it varies tens of times by country: calling mobiles in the UAE, Saudi Arabia or South Africa costs many times more than calling the US or Mexico. In the Gulf, telephony can cost more than the AI work itself. A WhatsApp call is a fraction of the cost of a mobile call—details in WhatsApp vs mobile.
How to compare offers
- What the price includes—just the platform, or models, voice and telephony too?
- Which countries—and how telephony is billed there.
- Who builds the script and the list—and how many revisions are included.
- How unanswered calls are billed—do you pay for dials with no conversation?
- What you get—recordings, transcripts, translation, CRM, reports.
- Who handles country rules—consent, AI disclosure, calling hours.
The right yardstick is the cost of one real conversation or one warm lead, not one minute.
FAQ
Why is your pricing on request?
Because it depends on countries (telephony to the UAE and to Mexico differs tens of times), languages, volume and whether you need list building. One worldwide price would be either bad for clients in Latin America or bad for us in the Middle East.
Is pay-per-result available on the market?
Yes: Aloware, for example, publishes prices per qualified lead and per booked meeting (Aloware). But even vendors of that model advise starting with regular billing until the script settles and volumes grow.
Is AI cheaper than a human call center?
Usually, at comparable volume. But it's better to compare outcomes: how many real conversations and warm leads you get for the same money, and how much of your team's time it takes.
